IT”S TIME TO SAY NO TO GENDER IMBALANCE IN DANCE MUSIC Draw the Line Radio Show features the great music being made by female producers, musicians and DJs in techno and other genres of modern dance music. The show is presented by Jacki-E, who is also co-presenter of A Darker Wave. The first hour features Jacki-E's mix of music made entirely by female & non-binary producers and musicians. In the second hour we give control of the decks to a guest female or non-binary DJ. The purpose of the show is to feature some of the great music being made by women & non-binary producers. Wherever you look in dance music there is a massive gender imbalance. Music made by men comprises over 90% of track lists and festival and club line ups. And yet women make up 50% of the population, but you wouldn’t think so by looking at the current state of dance music. It’s time to say NO to gender imbalance in dance music. It’s time to DRAW THE LINE!!!!!  Dj Vit was born in Portugal and moved to Canada. Vit began to become interested in the art of djing around 2000, lover of house, techno and transe music he has already done work in several private parties and camps dedicated to the musical style and in some bars. Currently DJ Vit is participating in radios shows and private parties.  DJ SCRAMM has been ripping the dance floor since the 90’s in NYC. He has played at Danceteria, Leviticus DownUnder and the Underground House Music scene. SCRAMM was a Hip Hop producer with Rocking Chair Productions for ABU Nation (Zulu Nation) and other local rapper’s from NYC. Currently working on a new Dance track. A fan of FL Studio and Virtual DJ.  I initially learned to mix back home in the late 90s in Hong Kong. I just got back to mixing a few months ago and it's probably the best thing I've done in a while. Currently living in Barcelona but Hong Kong will always be HOME  DJ Greatdrake hails from Toronto, Canada and has been a DJ since the late 80's .Working mostly in radio DJ Greatdrake has worked on CFRU-FM in Guelph, Canada, InSoulWeTrust Radio in Los Angeles, USA and HNT Radio in Toronto, Canada. Greatdrake has been a resident DJ on HNT Radio since 2014. You can check out my show, DJ Greatdrake Sessions weekly Thursday at 9 pm EST.  A Darker Wave is a duo consisting of P-Mac and Jacki-E. We are based in the UK and we have been doing our radio show on various stations since 2015. We have been dj-ing since 2018 and we play DJ gigs together as A Darker Wave. We produce our own music together and also remix tracks for others. Jacki-e plays DJ sets in her own right. We also promote events in the UK under the A Darker Wave name.  From the moment she entered her first afterhours, "Circus After-hours" in Montreal, Qc. to the moment she dropped her first huge bass line, Shannon Hilts, aka DJ Percusshunkidd, knew this was that thing she had been missing. Dancing thousands of steps inside the legendary Stereo After-hours, to promoting Ottawa's only all night dance party, she found that House Music fuelled everything she does. House Music was her reason to wake up. During the summer of 2020, amidst Covid-19 lockdowns and while the world practiced social distancing, she turned back on her Pioneer decks and started curating sets that would get her noticed. She had become a Resident Dj for Pandemica Muzik Kollective from Ottawa, Ontario in August 2020. Within the next 3 months she was given the opportunity to be a Resident with House Nation Toronto Radio with her set titled "Feel My Beat". (available for download on her SoundCloud) Spinning bi- weekly, 2hr LIVE sets, Dj Percusshunkidd plans to push the very best in new release Tech House, Techno, Progressive House and House. With hopes of creating the vibe the world needs. She also airs Saturday mornings from 0400hr-0600hrEST 2000-2200hr AEST. (Australia Eastern Standard Time) Her favourite DJ’s to date are Eli Brown for his Tech House vibes and rolling bass lines, James Hype who can make her tear up like “The Notebook” with his unreal drops and vocal samples from the jams she grew up with and absolutely loves the passion held within Nora En Pure and Camelphat’s production of Progressive House and Tech House tracks. She adds a dash of her personality when she drops Disney classics like “A Whole New World” from Aladdin and “The Circle Of Life” from The Lion King or picks up the mic or hand drum to throw some personal vibes too her mix. Her plans are to continue making mixes and working with House Nation Toronto Radio as well as move across Canada to Beautiful British Columbia to continue promoting the Percusshunkidd name. Keep your eyes on this one, her drive is relentless.  Patrick Béasse A.K.A Coldsweep with over a few decades of experience behind the decks. Many local and international talents have influenced his style. From his early years he fell in love with progressive house but dipped into every style of electronic music from electro, deep house, tech house, minimal and indie. Coldsweep will always manage to create a great vibe and get you on the dance floor.  Jesse Hitzroth, better known by his stage name "Bridges" is a Canadian electronic music producer and DJ. Currently residing in New Brunswick, Canada. Bridges is about bringing people together through music. Often using melodic and progressive ingredients to slowly build tracks to a cinematic climax. Each track puts the listener right in the middle of a story eliciting an emotional response. Not one to stay in traditional boundaries of electronic dance music, Bridges often fuses elements of melodic and progressive house with deep trance soundscapes. Bridges has recently teamed up with "House Nation Toronto Radio" to host a monthly radio show. You can listen in via the "HTN" app available on IOS & Android. Bridges has also been receiving radio play on CHSR 97.9 FM and featured on numerous "Spotify" playlists. This upcoming year shows no signs of Bridges slowing down. Between upcoming original releases and radio shows, 2021 is gearing up to be a big year for the New Brunswick based producer.  |
